There are strict criterion for deciding which patient is apt candidate for diabetes surgery or metabolic surgery.
The major criterion are
1. Se insulin levels
2. Se c peptide
3. Se anti gad ab
4. Glycosylatd hb
the 1st and 2 nd investigation are to be done pre meal and post meal .
Once we know these investigations we have to evaluate the patient in great details with regards to his disease by detailed history taking and clinical examination on specific points.the basic intention of this evaluation is to know about the insulin reserve.
